Staff announcedFrench armyMore than 9,500 French soldiers have been mobilized directly, or put on alert, in the framework of the moves that come in response to theRussian invasionfor Ukraine.
The General Staff told AFP: "We will have more than 1,500 French soldiers directly participating in missions to strengthen the position of NATO on the eastern flank."
About 500 soldiers will be deployed in Romania, in addition to the 300 already in Estonia, where about a hundred others will accompany the arrival of 4 Mirage 2000-5 combat aircraft aimed at "strengthening the air defense of the Baltic states," according to the same source.
The source added that about 600 soldiers were also mobilized in France to carry out sorties over Poland.
