In a statement, the Kremlin said that Putin said the reports of "continuous air strikes on Kyiv and other large cities are false news in the context of propaganda."
Putin stressed that dialogue for the sake of peace in Ukraine is not possible, unless "all Russian demands are accepted."
In a summary of the call, which came "at the initiative of Germany," the Kremlin indicated that "Russia is open to dialogue with the Ukrainian side and all those seeking peace in Ukraine, but only on the condition that all Russian demands are met."
Among these demands are Ukraine's adoption of neutrality, its abandonment of nuclear weapons, its "de-Nazification", recognition of Russia's annexation of Crimea, and
"The hope was expressed that Kyiv's representatives would take a logical and constructive position during the third round of talks," the Kremlin added.
A Ukrainian negotiator said Friday that the new round is expected to take place over the weekend.
